Germany’s Bundeswehr has established a new unit called the “Birds Group” at the Land Forces Command headquarters. The unit, named for the “bird’s-eye view” provided by drones and robotics, will coordinate all army drone and unmanned system projects. The Birds Group aims to accelerate development, test new technologies, and gather ideas directly from soldiers in the field to ensure practical effectiveness.
